Destination : Socotra Islands

Dress advice: There is a temperature difference in the morning and evening,
it is recommended to bring a light coat, etc., sun protection.
Special attention: the environment of this trip is more primitive and
wild, the whole camping, a little hiking, there will be some hard work,
and the partners who can not bear hardships should choose carefully.
There are only three main roads on the island, which are divided into
eastern, western and southern routes, centered around the capital city
of Hadibo.
Detwah Lagoon, Dixam Reserve and Araher Sand hill are the three main
attractions of Socotra, but they are located on the western, southern
and eastern routes respectively, so we need 7 days to explore the
attractions of the island.

    • 1- DAY ABU Dhabi – Hadib – Detwah Lagoon

    Our Socotra tour starts in ABU Dhabi, UAE.
    We will meet at AUH Airport and take a specific direct flight to Socotra.
    Arrival at Hadib in Socotra.
    What better way to start a trip than to head straight to the DETWAH Lagoon for a swim!
    Go and experience the real nature.
    Walk from the beach to our campsite and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch.
    Stay on the beach to watch the spectacular sunset over the lagoon before hiking in the nearby hills.
    Spend the night at our beach camp after dinner.

    2- DAY QALANSIYAH|SHOAB Beach

    • Take an early morning boat ride to SHOAB Beach – passing amazing rock formations and plenty of native birds along the way.There’s a good chance we’ll meet lots of dolphins on the way here too!
    • Arrive at SHOAB- relax and splash in the water on the island’s most beautiful beach.
    • Take the boat back to QALANSIYAH.
    • After lunch, trek along the coast to visit Alayeh Cave – known as the “Caveman” Abdullah was born here, and we’ll spend a little time fishing in the lagoon. And enjoy delicious fresh local seafood!
    • See how the locals cook.
    • Abdullah will give us a quick tour of the lagoon (if he is at home…) In this process, we will see puffer fish, sea cucumber, squid, starfish, sea urchin and so on.
    • In the evening and at night, we will camp at the DETWAH Eco-Campground.

    • 3- DAY Dixam

    • Wake up 2 hours earlier today, as we’re heading to the Dixam Highlands – the homeland of the dragon’s blood tree. It’s also my most anticipated place.
    • Cross through endless trees and enjoy the viewpoint over WADI DIRHAR – an incredible canyon that divides the Dixam and Firmihin forests.
    • We’ll have lunch under the shade of the dragon’s blood tree.
    • After lunch, swim in one of the many freshwater streams in WADIDIRHAR.
    • Take a 4×4 drive to Firmihin Forest, and hike to the top of the forest at sunset to enjoy a breathtaking view of thousands of dragon’s blood trees.
    • At night, we’ll set up camp in Dixam, cook dinner, and spend the night.

    4- DAY Dixam | Aomak | Dhahamri

    • In the morning, we will start our hike to the nearby Dragon’s Blood Tree nursery.
    • Through endless trees, we will have a viewpoint overlooking WADI DIRHAR.
    • We will drive to the south coast, to the epic sand dunes on either side of the coast. Drive through the sand dunes and play and take pictures along the way.
    • Visit the Degub Cave (if there is enough time)
    • Then we will visit the nearby Aomak Beach to enjoy, take pictures, play and swim
    • Lunch will be served in a palm date grove located near the beach.
    • Drive north for 2 hours to reach our camping site in the Dhahamri Marine Protected Area, where we will enjoy dinner and spend the night.

    • 5- DAY Dihamri Marine Protected Area (If you know this place?) | Kalysan Canyon

    • If you’re interested, we will go for scuba diving or snorkeling in the morning (of course, this is an additional cost).
    • Head inland and south to Kilisan Gorge. This will be an exciting off-road drive that takes 45 minutes to reach, but it’s well worth it. Swimming in the emerald green waters, jumping from the cliffs into the crystal-clear water, will be a unique travel experience.
    • We will have a picnic lunch outdoors.
    • Drive to Al Hejaz Beach Camp. This is where you can climb huge sand dunes! You can freely roam around the area. Those who are able can climb the 300-meter-high sand dune!
    • At night, we will have an outdoor dinner and campfire.

    6- DAY Homhill National Park |Arher Beach

    • Head straight to Homhill National Park after breakfast. The park is famous for its famous dragon’s blood tree. Many Adenium Socotranus and exotic plants can also be found here. After a 30-minute walk, we will reach an incredible crystal-clear lake with views over the entire southern part of the island.
    • Swim and relax in the “infinity pool”, then head back upstream for a picnic lunch under the palm trees.
    • Drive back to Arher Beach.
    • Stop at Socotra Folk Museum on the way.
    • Overnight after dinner in Arher Beach.

    • 7- DAY Ashir ?| bore Ushil? | Hadib

    • Wake up by the sea and climb the dunes before sunrise (again… !) . Cooled in seawater and rinsed in freshwater streams.
    • Start hiking to Hoq Cave (3 hours round trip)
    • Drive to RAW ERISEL, where the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean meet. This is where fresh and salt water meet, creating a bizarre natural phenomenon.
    • At noon, enjoy a special lunch at the nearby cave.
    • Drive back to Hadib
    • Arrive at SUMMER ISLAND HOTEL, now the best hotel on the island!
    • Dinner, overnight in Hadib.

    6- DAY Hadib – ABU Dhabi

    • A quick city tour of Hadib. Check out your local fish market.
    • Departure to the airport for your departure to ABU Dhabi.
    • Arriving in ABU Dhabi, Socotra tour ends.
